Description
Offered here is a beautiful white enamel over sterling silver brooch pin. Measuring 2 1/2" across, the pin was produced by David-Andersen and likely dates from the 1950's. As seen in Scan #1, the front surface features a white four-leaf design. The surface is enamel and bears a veined effect.Scan #2 shows the reverse side.
The words and symbols appearing on the reverse include: a tiny set of scales, "
D-A
";
"
925S
";
"
STERLING
";
and, "
NORWAY
". Beneath this wording there is an encircled letter "
W
", the mark associated with the designer, Willy Winnaess.
As seen in these two scans,
the pin remains in superb condition
. The surface is free of cracks, nicks, or other defects. The attaching pin on the reverse side functions properly
. Simply put, this is a flawless example of mid-Twentieth Century David-Andersen craftsmanship.
This pin was found among a large collection of vintage jewelry assembled over several decades prior to the mid-1970's and has been in storage since that time
.
The pin is being offered "as found" solely because I have chosen not to clean or enhance the piece in any manner. I will leave that decision to the discretion its new owner.
