    Description

1936 IV Olympic Winter Games, Hockey Pics and Wrapper...
This lot consists of the three hockey pics from pack #53
, and the corresponding wrapper 'Bilder-Gruppe 53', from "Olympia 1936 - Volume 1".   The three pictures are #32 USA vs Germany, whose top scorer Rudi Ball was the only Jew to compete for Germany in the games, #35 Canada Smokes Latvia 11-0, and #38 Gustav Jaenecke, Germany's team captain because the best player and de facto captain was a jew (and politically incorrect to show in the book).  This collection was made up of 175 photos, distributed by subscription in four photo packs (3packs of 50  3 1/8"x5 1/8" or 8mmx12mm photos, and one pack of 25 4 3/4"x 6 5/8"or 12mmx17mm photos).  This grouping is defined by the wrapper and hockey photos combination, and the unlikely ability to ever duplicate such a pairing ever again...  It came from an advanced collection that had three different wrapper/photo combinations which we are listing...  Hope someone gives this a good home.
The wrapper shows evidence of wear with a marginal tear, and  condition is about vg-ex, and the three photos are faultless nr-mint.
